I don't remember anything that was at least blatantly a higher power. Stephen Bryce ===== "Never become more popular than the boss... unless you intend to sack him." Like, how come no >one ever notices all the explosions going on It has been suggested (by me?)(possibly) that the Quickening emits Q-rays that dull the senses of any mortal who happens to be in the vicinity. One might see a Quickening but one perceives it as a flash of sun on glass, a car backfiring, a flower pot being dropped from some height...mundane things one's brain will accept. > and the >unusually large number of decapitated bodies with >swords nearby? I think some Immortals must hide some of the bodies and collect the swords and one must always remember that the police in the HL world are profoundly stupid. >And, how can Mac do all that fighting and chopping of >heads and get all those quickenings, yet he doesn't >often seem to get blood or burns on his clothes. Well, he does lose a lot of clothes over the years- sweaters slashed, sleeves cut, etc. As for blood..you have to write that off to it being TV. They couldn't show showers of blood three times per episode. There is usually a bit of blood along the edges of any would and that's about it - unless one gets decapitated in water, where they could show a stream of blood floating away. Actually, a remarkably high percentage of duels seem to be fought near water- providing an excellent opportunity for body disposal. >And the sword....it's not there, then suddenly, there >it is. Again, it's been awhile, but that scene stood out to me. I have to see it again to see if my memory serves here, but that is what I remember. That seems higher than inner turmoil to me.
