There are people who play happily in the Pegasus Galaxy? They must be
nicer than the people who play in our Galaxy. I tried a few Stargate
groups once upon a time (not an exhaustive survey) and found that most
seemed to exist only to drool over Michael Shanks (and whine at any
episode that didn't make Daniel the hero) or to discuss the
O'Neill/Carter non-pairing (with heavy doses of "what would the real Air
Force do" thrown in). After 3 or 4 years. I could have cared less if
O'Neill ever shagged Carter and Daniel is all very nice but I liked him
better when he used his brains and not his guns.
I'm sure the Stargate/Atlantis realm offers many possibilities for
fanfic- all those studly men to "slash" - so many opportunities for
hurt/comfort plots Let me guess ... Beckett/Ronin? Mitchell/Jackson?
Mitchell/Teal'c? Shephard/Ronin? Shepard/Mitchell?

No, I didn't mean the fans. They're even more hardcore than the HL fans
and that
kinda scares me! I just meant, in general, I'd much rather watch
Atlantis than HL now.

*told* it could never happen, but like typical fangirls, kept on writing
little hints.
At least slashers *know* our pairing will never happen. Shippers dream that
theirs will and constantly get frustrated. I'd rather be a slasher.

I totally agree with you. I don't want Carter in Atlantis either. Daniel

He's the expert on the Ancients. I mean if we're being logical. Mitchell
would fit
in there too. Carter would just ruin Rodney's fun and *nobody* messes with
my Rodney!!!

Wow, I'm behind on my Atlantis. I didn't even know she was headed
there. We don't need her! And isn't Mitchell already on Atlantis? I
guess he's actually just a 'guest star' still, and not on every ep or
anything.

LOL! I like Rodney, but it took me a while. I often still just want
to smack him - especially when he does something really annoyingly
obtuse! (which is pretty much every ep) I like Shephard - he's just
so darn cute that you just want to... well, I'm sure you get the
idea! What can I say - I'm a sucker for the tall, dark & handsome
ones. :)

AFAIK she's going to do *some* episodes in the fourth season, because
she already signed for an 11th season of SG-1, of which there won't be one
now.
Mitchell has never been on Atlantis. He's been *to* Atlantis, but that
episode
was an ep of SG-1. O'Neill was on (and in!) Atlantis. Not much to do, but
it was lovely to see him again! I miss him.

I always liked Rodney. My favourite SG-1 scene of his was "48 Hours", when
he called Carter a dumb blonde and she said, "Go suck a lemon." Hee hee.
When
that was his only ep, I watched it over and over just to see him. Now we
have
60 Atlantis eps and 5 SG-1 eps and counting... :)

I like Sheppard too. I've had his pic up on my desktop for about three
months, and
I normally change my desktop pic once a week! But he's just so darn
hunkalicious
(I don't care if that's not a word)!
Actually, I like all the Atlantis characters, even Teyla. Ronon made me
SO appreciate
dreads on a man. And I want to hug Zelenka. And of course I can't get
enough of
Carson's accent! I liked Peter, too (the actor was South African) and
was hugely
upset when he got killed by the Wraith. I wish they'd bring Cadman back;
she was
fun. And of course, Caldwell *rules*! I watched that second (?) season
ep of the
X-Files where Skinner sleeps with the hooker just to see him and Amanda
Tapping
in bed together; that's how hardcore I am! ;)

That's as it should be. Atlantis is new and on-going. Highlander, while
Immortal, is dead.

I just don't see the point. (Yes, I know its contractual). Atlantis
already has a super genius, do they need two? And while a little
Carter-Rodney sparring is OK, I certainly don't want to watch it all the
time. ( I guess she is only committed to 10 episodes) Or is Rodney going
to go missing like Carson is?

Too many men on Atlantis anyway. Unless he went to replace Weir (who is
on her way out, from what I hear) If TPTB want Atlantis to stand on its
own, they can't transplant the whole SG1 team to Atlantis.

But we already have Shephard and Mitchell would be redundant, Handsome,
sexy, fun...but redundant.

Hmmm... snarky, nasty, insulting fans are easier to take than thousands of
fans all going, "Squee!!!"

As Jette said, he does occasionally. But really, slash with Daniel,
Jack, Teal'c
or Mitchell... pretty much doesn't interest me.

Well, it's kinda hard to slash characters who live in different
galaxies. And
they didn't seem to get on particularly well the one time they met.

I hope not. But if he did, I bet poor Brad Wright would get death
threats again
(he didn't do conventions for a couple of years after season 6 because
of all
the death threats). Well, he'd get at least one death threat. ;)

Well, it's stood on its own for three years now, so that's something.
Maybe it's
like TNG (can you remember that far back? <g>) where they didn't do too
much
crossover or mention TOS too much until they felt secure enough to stand on
their own and realise the other show was no threat and they could therefore
have characters on without being seen as "needing" them to keep going.
