I disagree here. There is consistency, although it's subtle. Ingrid
was an *immediate* threat to the lives of dozens of mortals, and stated
her plan to continue her campaign of assassination. The 'proof' that
Kristin had killed Louise 300-odd years before was circumstantial, she
*hadn't* succeeded in killing what's-her-name and wasn't an immediate
threat to anyone. Recall that, at Richie's behest, he also spared the
punk-rocker-gal who had killed mortals in the past, but not anyone in
the present. Annie Devlin also hadn't succeeded in killing anyone in
the present and wasn't an immediate threat to any mortal.
There's not One Simple Rule, but as a general proposition, he will try
to avoid killing an Immortal (especially a female Immortal - I think
they are not that common) he has a relationship with unless they present
an immediate threat to mortals.
