Sheet music for "Bonny Portmore" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Mon, 29 Sep 2003 13:05:23 -0400 From: clarsair <clarsair@fast.net> Subject: Sheet music for "Bonny Portmore" For those of you who are still in search of sheet music to "Bonny Portmore" - here's a few resources: O'Neill's Music of Ireland (the version with 1850 tunes); look for the tune "Peggy Lavan" - I think it's number 140, but examine the "Slow Airs" section of the table of contents to be sure. Bunting's 'The Ancient Music of Ireland'; (it's back in print <g>) look for tunes from harper Peggy Lavan (hence the first listing <g>) / Margaret Lavan. Laura Zaerr's "Celtic Concerto"; bit pricey, though, if all one wants is "Bonny Portmore". And, finally, on the Web, and the reason for this post <g>, Roger Muma's arrangement is now at: http://www.sibeliusmusic.com/cgi-bin/show_score.pl?scoreid=12306 Yes, it's scored for harp, but Roger's a harp-maker, I'm a harp-player, and "them's the breaks", so be prepared to re-arrange if doing melody line only.
