eps...did they or didn't they play them all...and it was your confirmation to my
suspicion that they didn't. So, it's a fersure? They skipped some? Any idea as

This was previously posted here by Shirley Nemec, & I saved it. But, I
understood that the song was writen ABOUT the alt.tv.highlander newsgroup,
rather than BY a fan. The stuff about 5 & 6 supposedly refers to AP's
uncertainty at that time about doing a 6th season.
BTW--the song also plays in the Alternate Methos bar scene of Not To Be.

Yes, but why was Methos living in the jewelry store Morgan d'Estaing robbed
back in Double Jeopardy?

merely annoying when it was recognized, but when Raven later raided the
HL:TS film vault--including some DM footage--it was dirty rotten cheating)

They switched it for the annoying onscreen ads
sometime back. Oh well, at least they're not showing
cartoon ads on there anymore...it's down to just that
little tv screen thingy in the corner. Not *quite* as

yeah, they skipped Haunted and Till Death. I have no
clue why. And then the four Season 6 eps they're
skipping.

I'm not going to say that wasn't an emotional episode,
because it was....but I'll say again that I don't
really think it fit the general canon of the series.
Of course they're Immies, and you have to suspend
disbelief for that part, but up until then they never
went into a lot of supernatural stuff. Unless you
count Haunted, and that couldn've all been in Alec's
wife's head or something.
All I can say is that it looks like there aren't a lot
of decent eps left, except maybe Indescretions and one
or two more. It's just a shame IMHO that the series
had to go downhill so badly at the end.
Mel (why couldn't they maintain the quailty of many of
the earlier eps?)

Despite my own best intentions, I sat down and watched "Archangel' again .. Yikes..what were the writers smoking?
Why oh why did they feel the need to shoehorn ancient Zoroastrian myths into the tale of Immortals?
The whole story arc makes so little sense as to be almost laughable.
I'm a 1000 year old demon who wakes up and, instead of actually doing some great Evil, I head straight to the one place where my foretold opponent is living. No..no..let's not blight a few crops in Asia and then cause a drought in Africa and then torch buildings in the USA..no..let's go straight to Paris and confront my enemy. The enemy that, according to myth, *always* defeats me. Yep....that's a plan. I'm stupid. No wonder I always get defeated. That..and the fact that my greatest weapon is fear and red fog. My *two* greatest weapons are fear, red fog and bleeding roses. My *three* greatest weapons are fear, red fog, bleeding roses and the walking dead. Wait a minute..I have the fear, the red fog, the bleeding roses, walking dead and French gibbering dwarf...My *four*......
Why was the demon able to kill the guide in the cave but then let Landry live?
Why did it take Landry and the demon 6 months to reach Paris?
Why does the demon appear to Duncan as Kronos in full Bronze Age regalia when Duncan never saw him that way in real life?
Why was that hermit waiting 600 years in a cave for Duncan's arrival?
If the hermit knew who the next Champion was, does Duncan know who the *next* Champion will be?
Shouldn't someone have contacted the Zoroastrians and mentioned that their demon was loose?
Were Methos and Joe under the demon's influence or did they both take leave of their senses at the same time?
Are Immortals here on Earth to fight demons?
If so, what is the Game for?
If Duncan was predestined to be the Champion, does that mean he was unkillable all those years before he faced the demon?
Is it really fair to pick a Champion who isn't even of the same Faith as the demon?
Why did Duncan go all Lakota after killing Richie?
Did 98% of the audience understand why Duncan stole Richie's glove?
Why did the Dead Richie Montage only show the happy times between Duncan and Richie and gloss over all the bad times?
And ..tomorrow we get "Avatar"..which is arguably the *worst* Highlander episode ever produced, bar none (not even the Zone)
#mean-spirited(Lets all huddle around out "singing bowl" and see if we can bore the big bad demon to death.)

Perhaps the tale of Immortals should have been shoehorned into the
Zoroastrian myths? Or would *that* show have lasted more than one season?

The demon cannot utilize its full powers until it defeats the
Champion. You think only heroes have quests? Pffftt....

Sounds like it would make for a good game for the Playstaion 2. "Coming
soon to consoles near you, the long-awaited 'Ahriman's Gift.' You are a
demon, newly risen from limbo. But first you must gather your
powers. Armed only with the special powers of fear, fog, flowers and the
French, you must battle your nemesis, the Immortal Champion."

Landry was the vessel through which the demon communicated with
Duncan. Not the vessel with the pestle (that contained the pellet with the
poison...that's another show).

Demons who only awaken once every thousand years aren't exactly on top of
today fashion trends, savvy?

could deliver the message to the Champ? Nuh-uh. Probably took a lesson
from Methos in that regard.

Someone did. The Zoroastrians disavowed all knowledge of the demon. They
wanted to avoid the lawsuits.

The demon gave them both some Zoroastrian-era petrified cannabis disguised
as "the good stuff." It was reported that Joe wrote some of his best music
under the influence.

No, the Immortals are supposed to be food for the demon (if it ever can
defeat the Champion, that is).

Nope. See my comment about Richie. Just wait till the next
millenium. There'll be a demon snacking up some tasty Immortals. Mmm mmm!

Faith has nothing to do with it. Although if you mean the actress who
played Faith in BTVS, I wouldn't mind seeing her in the new HL movie <g>.

The writers flipped a coin. Heads he goes Lakota, tales he goes Pavarotti.

That was Duncan's glove. Richie never did give it back, the little rat.

The writers wanted the audience to feel bad for Duncan, not think, "Good
riddance." (Course, that didn't work for everyone).

No, I'd argue the Zone was worse. At least Avatar was a transitory
episode. The Zone was just filler to round out an even 22 eps.

Oh if only the writers would have gotten tails. Then the singing bowl
would have been replaced by the dancing castanets (accompanied by Duncan
doing his rendition of Carmen). That would have made for a believable
demon-death.
