I should warn you that I am an Adrian Paul "completist" which means I have to have every scrap of film he has ever done. That said, Nemesis Game has not been released yet. I have pre-ordered it. It is said to be very scarey. But it is straight to video so I have no illusion of greatness here. It is not the breakout role we are waiting for. Code Hunter is my least favorite of all the films AP has done post HL:TS. It is a disjointed scifi type movie. Adrian of course looks simply dark and lovely. But there isn't much of a "role" for him in it. If you are a completist, get the DVD. If not, rent it at Blockbusters. The Void is worth having as a movie if only because of the love scene :) The Breed is worth having because though I don't like vampire movies, and this one is quite dark, Adrian has a positively brilliant scene towards the very end of the movie. Perhaps one of his best performances ever. Dying to Get Rich [aka Susan's Plan] was terrible. His role was cameo at best and I don't like AP in comedies. Convergence was a simply bizaar movie. It needed a director. Badly. For what it is worth, Adrian's role as "Brady" was so unrecognizably Adrian that it is a tribute to his incredible acting skills. Even his body language was bent, slow, ponderous. His talents were [are usually] wasted in that movie. Merlin: The Return was just a simple, fun, children's movie with one nice tender scene at the end. Expect serious greatness and you will be disappointed. [think bad wig as in Masque of the Red Death] His tv appearances in episodes of Charmed and The Relic Hunter are actually two of the better roles he has had. In both he played a gorgeous, seductive character. Yum. The movie he is currently directing, HiRokin is coming along. He does not appear in this one. We think :) His day will come. In the meantime he is a working actor, making good money, and seems to have a radiantly happy personal life again. I don't feel sorry for him, but for those of us who want so much to see more of him, and above all I am sorry for all those who have not been exposed to his talent [and bod] [did I say that? *vbeg*] Dorothy/Rottie ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 5 Jun 2003 09:21:17 -0700 From: Becky Doland <becky@beckyjo.com> Subject: TNN = Spike TV Regarding TNN renaming itself Spike, I saw this news item today. ~ Becky Hollywood auteur Spike Lee is suing an American media company over plans to name a cable channel Spike TV. The Malcolm X movie maker claims viewers would associate the channel with him, and has asked for an injunction against media giant Viacom's use of his name. He also claims one executive at the company - who want to rename their Tnn channel - told him the name was reference to him. In court papers filed on Tuesday Lee says, "The media description of this change of name, as well as comments made to me and my wife, confirmed what was obvious - that Spike TV referred to Spike Lee." Spike has called on Hollywood pals Edward Norton and Ossie Davis and former senator Bill Bradley to sign affidavits to say they had thought of Lee when they heard about Spike TV, and believed he had become affiliated with the network. Viacom claim the move is intended to attract more male viewers. They say they are confident the court will reject Lee's legal claim to "the popular word and name Spike." Viacom, which also owns broadcasters such as CBS, MTV, and VH1, has been directed by the judge to explain why it should not be barred from using the name. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 5 Jun 2003 17:11:09 +0100 From: Jette Goldie <jette@blueyonder.co.uk> Subject: Re: Unholy Alliance > Oh...I knew it was some kind of wierd name, but I > couldn't remember clearly which one.
