My kids didn't recognize him at all until I pointed him out. They did recognize "Teal'c", though, even with hair. Quite the testosterone fest they were having on that ep, "Day of Judgement, Day of Wrath", what with Sorbo and Cobb and Shanks and Judge all there. I caught a bit of the episode on TNN as well, and Tessa's indignation always did seem to me a bit forced. A feeling that the friend's pimp wasn't good news, sure, but not such blatant antipathy seemed not in character for her. Re HLFIC-L not being busy, I admit that I haven't subscribed for a while, and I didn't know about the highlander.org archives. I do read the Seventh Generation archives every so often, and they are still having new additions every month or so. I'm glad that this list is still around; the lists and websites of many fandoms just fall apart so quickly. I like to think he was into some heavy duty sex games. I can't say that this is one of my favorite episodes - it ranks near the very bottom. It's violent and it's stupid. If Bellion wanted to avenge his daughter's honor (or his own honor for that matter) why not just wait until Mark comes out of the house in the normal course of event? Catch him when he goes out to his car and snap his useless neck... it certainly didn't require a full scale assault on the house. We won't even discuss the idea that a herd of professional merc wouldn't put on a better show than that bunch did. When Richie and Tessa score more kills than the professionals do, there is something very wrong. It was nice to see Anthony in his post-Nescafe pre-Giles days. Was this the first of the "French girls with high squeaky dubbed voices"? I swear they got the same woman to dub 98% of all the female voices. She has a peculiar high breathy voice that grates. Like, how come no one ever notices all the explosions going on and the unusually large number of decapitated bodies with swords nearby? And, how can Mac do all that fighting and chopping of heads and get all those quickenings, yet he doesn't often seem to get blood or burns on his clothes. (Mountain Men was the one exception I've seen so far. Yummmmm! wet, shirtless, scruffy, slightly dirty Mac! Very drool-worthy)Guess he must have been Scotchguarded or something. And the sword....it's not there, then suddenly, there it is. Magic sword LOL. Apparently the "what does he do with the bodies?" wondering carried over to Tracker. But I can let all these inconsistancies (sp?) slip 'cause the rest of it is so good. Just as an aside, when I was stumbling around looking at the official Highlander catalog site the other day, I found that they've added these "Under the Kilt" comments from various producers and production people to many of the episode descriptions. There were some pretty amusing comments and asides, some new things, some things I'd heard before. One of the things they often mentioned was whether they had to redo dialogue for someone with a heavy French accent. They mentioned one guy in particular that they used more than once (I think the name was John Novak?). It's quite likely they used the same actress over and over to loop female voices. It's found at www.highlandercatalog.com under "Highlander Lore" and then "Under the Kilt." Not every episode has comments, but most do. Comments are from David A, Ken Gord, Don Paonessa, etc. It had been years since I looked at anything like that, it was fun reading up on all the old eps and I was surprised to find out completely new things about how productions went together. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 13 May 2003 12:07:15 -0400 From: virginia <vfoster@mindspring.com> Subject: Re: OT: Question on Andromeda Nope, Michael Shanks was in the episode "Day of Judgement. Having been just newly infected by the SG-1 virus and only having passing familiarity with "Andromeda", I didn't see that one personally, but several characters on the show made reference to having met or having knowledge of Gabriel before. In fact, Harper declared that not only had Gabriel tried to kill them all, but "worse than that, Rommie, he broke your heart!" Ob-HL-ref: Really would like to see PW show up on "Andromeda". While answering a question with a question is not my habit, I can only say...Why shouldn't they be ignored? But in all seriousness (if one can be serious when referring to the second and third movies), the *ahem* liberties taken with the storyline set forth in the first movie, and subsequently the series by movies II (the Sickening) and III (the Final Dementia) make it impossible to fit them into the timeline, or the overall story arc. As a result, the typical reaction by fans, actors, producers, directors, most writers, and the occasional weasel is to just pretend it never happened. This, of course, is a very valid response in show business and politics. Do not try this at home. --Pro proy@microsoft.com CFW for Ursa "There can be only...ooh, pretty!" Speaking of my favorite non-HL watcher, I caught one episode of "Manchild" on BBC America. Showed a different side of ASH, literally. He spent 10 min. wearing only an apron. I wouldn't say his bum is as nicely shaped as AP's. It's cute and highly grabbable, much like the rest of the man. MHO & YMMV. I know it was a K'immie but as for which one, I can't remember. The one who was after Connor in the first movie. Didn't he try to start fighting Connor in the church? Or am I mistaken? What's always bothered me was Duncan uncharacteristically allowing Tessa & Richie to be endangered. When he saw that Bellion had brought in mercs, why didn't Duncan challenge him? Why allow the mortals to be placed at risk? This was another of the handful of episodes which could have just as well been any action/adventure/hero show. It wasn't a HL episode.
