Sooner or later some Watcher Librarian would notice that Darius was whacked after Horton (or someone on Horton's staff) reviewed Darius' chronicle.... and then Fitz' chronicle... and so on. Particularly so if all these Immortals were killed by persons unknown. Not that anyone would leap to the conclusion that Horton was doing the whacking, but it would tend to make people ask questions. If the info was on disc or an online database, it would be even harder for Horton to cover his tracks. And even if being noticed wasn't really all THAT likely, Horton was paranoid enough to think that it was. > But....such real world considerations don't count around here <eg> Or at least they didn't use to. We must discover or create a rationale that works within the show's reality. Absolutely! :-) > Marina speaks up: > >Maybe they still had all their stuff stored in musty old archives. > >(Can you see Horton digging through musty archives?) It wasn't until > >two Watchers got it into their heads to go round making CDs with all > >the info handy that things *really* hit the fan... > > Possible...possible. Though I tend to believe that some immortals are more famous, or infamous, than others and would be recognized by most Watchers. Fitz was old and he was colorful. He seems like the kind of Immortal they would use as an example in the Academy. Very possible, but he might not know what Fitz looks like this month. Still, Horton was surely 99% certain he had an Immie - what if he had been wrong? "Oops. Sorry, my mistake. Let's dump the body in the Seine and be on our way." > I also said: > >Come to think of it..the scene where Horton bumps into Tessa to see if her hand is still hurt doesn't make a lot sense either (Is that in "The Watchers"? )(Yes, I think so). *If* she was Immortal..she wouldn't have been wearing a bandage in the first place...they heal much too quickly to need a bandage. Did Horton think she was Immortal and disguising herself by wearing a bandage? That's exactly what I thought was going on. > Had he done no research to see who this woman who had been with Duncan for 12 years was? > beccaelizabeth says: > >With Tessa all the records can possibly show is that they've never seen > >her die, and they've never seen her take a Quickening. They might have noticed she looked 12 years older <EG> I go back to the theory that he didn't do much actual research. > >maybe he be crazy. > > Oh yeah. No doubt about that. > > Wendy(Should I still be worried about things like this after all these years?) Why not? It's more fun than worrying about how I'm going to pay the Visa bill this month. :-) -------------------- Trilby Live long and prosper. May the Force be with you.
