HLDU Walkabout Tour (2) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Fri, 1 Feb 2002 23:42:41 +1100 From: Carmel Macpherson <carmel@stuartfieldhouse.com> Subject: HLDU Walkabout Tour Hi all Well - we've spoken about it often enough and now it is a reality. Why not join Sonja and me on the shores of Loch Shiel???? http://www.hldu.org/tour.shtml This is one of the fundraisers for HLDU for HLDU5. If you have ever yearned to visit Glenfinnan then why not do it with a group of fellow Highlander fans? Glenfinnan House is wonderful and overlooks the Highlander Monument we saw Joe and Duncan standing in front of. The entire area is magical...we will be taking the group to Castle Tioram...Dunvegan Castle on Skye...Culloden...and of course, we will also be riding on the waters of Loch Shiel itself... Ear plugs will be supplied for those who have no desire whatsoever to hear me wax lyrical about Duncan's Journey...and blindfolds for those who do not wish to see me fall head over turkey at yet another Highlander sacred site... Did I mention how I fell over at Duncan's cabin??? I'm amazed you didn't all hear the maniacal shrieking laughter a continent away of Jody, Annie, Carol, Pammy, Roberta, Aine, Margie and Kathy (all led by Sonja)...thank the gods I have so much padding is all I can say... I call it "Falling for Highlander".... Kind regards @ Carmel Macpherson <<<@{}=================>>> Chief EDFWs @ carmel@hldu.org http://carmelmacpherson.com/ http://www.hldu.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ HLDU5: 2-4 May, 2003. The boat ride on Loch Shiel is quiet, the scenery primordial and majestic. And I still cry thinking of walking Culloden. It has been so well preserved, it is raw. The sheep are sweet, the bramble just like the original and the memories overwhelming. It was a trip of a lifetime and to have been able to see it with Carmel's commentary would have made it double special. I already envy all who do get to go. Have fun. ------------------------------ End of HIGHLA-L Digest - 29 Jan 2002 to 1 Feb 2002 (#2002-10) *************************************************************
