thought it was going to be on HBO/Showtime/someotherpaychannel, but I don't
see a listing in the DirecTV guide for it and haven't seen any

It was shown on Starz in July and August. The Starz homepage says there are
no scheduled show dates now for The Breed.

ACK! ACK! ACK! I visited my cable and satellite-less parents in July and I
missed any mention there might have been on the list about it since I was
nomail then as well. I was home in August, but didn't see any ads for it on
Starz so I missed it that month too. They do show things over and over
though, so I'll just keep a lookout for it.

television series lead Adrian Paul. The fifth film, to be called
Highlander: The Source, would reportedly be directed by Russell Mulcahy,
who helmed the first Highlander film in 1986.
The last film, Highlander: Endgame, grossed less than $13 million at the

File this somewhere between *unlikely* and *ill-advised*. Given the
box-office for Endgame and the reaction to these rumours at Reunion, I would
*hope* that this info is just the normal rumour...because otherwise, the
very idea will be the last nail in the franchise coffin.

If I dig out my HL tapes after - um - 3 years? and watch them,
will I cringe at them? Has anyone else taken an expensive - er -
extensive vacation from them and then watched them again? What
was your reaction after that length of time?

We did that this past weekend. watched the first episode and another from
season one. Enjoyed them tremendously. Laughed at/got annoyed by Richie's
green jacket, but loved seeing Tessa again.

Direct to video, maybe. (As Endgame should have been.) No thanks. Let's
see--HL 2, HL 3, HL:TS season 6, Raven, Endgame, that silly Methos
nettoon.... I, for one, have been had by DPP one too many times.

Not only is that embarrassingly low generally (especially in light of how
damned good the movie COULD have been, if competently handled), it is
actually less than either HL 2 or HL 3, as far as US gross. And that's not
even factoring in the higher cost of tickets these days, etc.... Endgame
made less than the Zeist flick!!! Pathetic.
It seems apt to quote here the message DPP put on the HL Official site back
in 9-00, about poor, misunderstood Endgame--

a film that is one of genuine Highlander storytelling in which we take great

I've decided that what the franchise really needs *is* flying Immortals. And kids..every new Highlander movie should feature a big-eyed kid. And..a doggie. And...a terminal illness that renders the victim progressively more beautiful until they die looking like a super model with a slightly dark circles under the eyes. And... a old homestead about to be sold to evil developers. Definitely a laugh track. And.... a food fight.
Nothing they do at this point could possibly hurt, IMGLO.

I recently watched most of Season 4 after a break of several years. It held up well, although....I admit that I found the angst and repetitive moral dilemmas more annoying than I once did. I think it was knowing how it was all going to turn out that made me impatient with it all. I found I wanted to smack Duncan more often that I did originally..and even Methos got on my nerves. I gave up trying to reconcile Amanda of HL:TS with what I knew she was to become in Raven.

OTOH, Duncan was still gorgeous and Methos was still cute. The acting didn't suddenly strike me as cringe-worthy- except in those cases where I always cringed (Stan in season one and Jim throughout.). Hey..it is still better than much of what is on TV. (Not as good as Farscape or Angel or West Wing...but good.)

I hope to heavens that I never see it. I don't know what's wrong with the
HL PTB, but they don't seem capable of making a decent HL movie (other than
the first one, of course). This last one showed that even when they *have*
a good movie, they ruin it before sending it to the theaters.
They need to stop.... NOW.
