I have been receiving a *lot* of anxious inquiries about the continuation of Forging the Blade, and I had assured one and all that yes, the story was in process, that I had written several chapters, but that it was moving rather slowly. In addition, I hadn't really settled on a title yet. As a result, I had not planned on posting any part of this story for several weeks. But tonight, with the lists absolutely deadly quiet, and with us all dealing with today's tragedy in our own way, I thought posting a part of this story might help take a few minds off of life's more dire possibilities, so I present Chapter One of a story that is *tentatively* titled Kithe and Kin. My gratitude goes to Cinel Durant, who found a wonderful word in my search for an appropriate title. It is defined as: kithe \'kith\ vb kithed; kithing [ME kithen, fr. OE cythan, fr. cuth] vt. chiefly Scot: to make known ~ vt. chiefly Scot: to become known. The usual disclaimers apply. Not mine. No profit, etc. Please note that this is a work in progress, and that there may be edits to previously posted material. This chapter is not yet available on my website. Rating: PG13. Summary: Connor has found Duncan, and many lessons are taught, and many lessons are learned. God Bless. MacG
