Chapter Fourteen "I was thinking, if you're going to keep luring me to stay like this, I really should go back to my place and get a few things." Duncan said, with a lop-sided grin and one raised eye-brow, as he leaned against the doorway of the hall entrance, his arms crossed casually against his chest. "Oh, poor baby, I'm such a hussy for taking advantage of your weak nature." Caitlin teased in return as she cleared away their late breakfast dishes. Glancing in his direction, she was struck anew by how handsome he was and how much she had come to love him. Barefoot, clad in a pair of slim fitting black jeans and midnight blue linen shirt left unbuttoned, his raven-black hair still damp and shinning from his recent shower, she felt a stab of desire for this relative stranger. It scared her in a way. Her emotions had been so raw over the past few months, she started to wonder if she hadn't come too far, too fast. Seeing the change in her expression, Duncan straightened. A look of concern crossing his dark features. "Caitlin, are you all right?" Smiling again, she shook her head positively, to snap herself out of her somber thoughts. "Yes, yes I'm fine. I guess I'm just a little over whelmed by how close we've become in such a short time." Putting on one of his most charming smiles, Duncan sauntered over and grabbed one her hands, pulling her against him and started to waltz around the kitchen. "What can I say," he said, as he hummed a tune he remembered from a by-gone era. "I guess I just didn't want to waste any time when I met a beautiful woman who awoke feelings in me I haven't felt for a long time." She knew his words though spoken lightly, were the truth by his intense expression. Stopping suddenly almost tripping her partner, Caitlin asked. "Are you sure Duncan?" She said, a little breathless from their whirl around the kitchen. "Are you sure you're willing to take on a newly divorced woman, who's close to an emotional wreck, unsure of herself and what she wants out of life right now?" Clasping his hands behind her waist, he smiled, glazing into her questioning green eyes as their bodies pressed closer together. "I'm sure, sweetheart. Are you?" He asked, as he tweaked her nose. "Are you ready to start a serious relationship so soon, especially with a man you know so little about?" Wrapping her arms him in return, and hugging him close she murmured. "Oh, Duncan, if there is one thing I'm sure about, it's how much I've come to love you and want to be with you." A deep groan of emotional satisfaction escaped his lips as he moved to place his hands on either side of Caitlin's lovely face and brought his lips down to meet hers in a deep soul searching kiss that stirred them both down to soles of their feet.
