Russain "Source"? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Tue, 20 Feb 2007 19:55:48 -0500 From: Heidi <heidi@bronze.lcs.mit.edu> Subject: Re: Russain "Source"? From: Dotiran@aol.com Read the official HL BB for MAJOR spoilers from those who have seen it. Bottom line: Better than Endgame, but the ending needs work and the Guardian is goofy. I read some of the comments today and alot of it sounds goofy. If it wasn't for the fact that I've seen descriptions of it several places, I would have thought the first review I read was actually a parody that someone wrote. The opinions of people who have seen it seem to vary quite a bit. Some said it's better then HL2 but worse then the others. I remember when Comes A Horseman/Rev. 6:8 aired quite a few people said they should have saved that story for a HL movie because it would be even better with a movie budget. Given the history the movies have of adding more scifi elements and changing or ignoring things established in the series, we may be better off that that story stayed on tv. If they just stuck to that script for the most part it would have been fine, but I expect some of the things they'd probably change or add to try to bring in a wider movie audience would take away too much from it. On a side note, if anyone doesn't have the full season dvd box sets yet, www.deepdiscountdvd.com has an ad on their front page for a `buy one get one' sale that includes the HL box sets. A good deal since they don't charge for shipping. I'm not sure but I think the sale ends this Wend. so check it soon if you're thinking of ordering any. I think the sale may be for series that Anchor Bay released. I didn't read the fine print because I was just going to the site to check the DVD release date for the two Pretender tv movies. (I know several of you said you like `The Pretender', so if you didn't know the two tv movies are being released together on dvd in March.) =}{= (heidi@bronze.lcs.mit.edu) ------------------------------ End of HIGHLA-L Digest - 19 Feb 2007 to 20 Feb 2007 (#2007-20) **************************************************************
