Last night on "The Daily Show" , John Stewart was interviewing Peter O'Toole. O'Toole is in his 70's but looks like he is in his 150's ( great bone structure, terrible lifestyle <eg>) Stewart suggested that O'Toole could just sit back and bask in the adulation of his fans. O'Toole replied that the cost of living kept rising and so he had to keep working on and on and on and on. Stewart paused to consider this and then responded "You are the Highlander!". It just struck me funny. Wendy(I am sometimes easily amused.)( I suppose O'Toole looks only slightly worse than Lambert did in "Endgame" )(:::snicker::::) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Jan 2007 13:35:06 -0500 From: kageorge <kageorge1@verizon.net> Subject: Re: Just when you think HL:TS is gone and forgotten... Fandom and coincidences, I love them! :D Hehe. Peter O'Toole, though. Just saw his wonderful performance in Casanova, the one with David Tennant. Fantastic work. See it if you haven't! Didn't I send you that videotape of the old Jon Stewart talkshow (the one that ran in the mid 90s) where he had Clancy Brown as a guest? Jon is apparently quite the Highlander fan, he greeted Clancy by hauling a big-ass sword out from under the coffee table and asking if Clancy wanted to pose with it. It was charmingly fanboyish. Clancy, on the other hand, strolled out taking pictures of the audience with a little camera, probably because he figured it was about as high as he was going to reach on the fame-o-meter. ------------------------------ End of HIGHLA-L Digest - 11 Jan 2007 to 12 Jan 2007 (#2007-6) *************************************************************
