My little cousins are always watching but it never clicked...though now it's a little easier to catch the similarity in the voices when I think back. LOL about the K name thing Mel __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Trilogy synopsis!! I was scanning a website I go to that uploads movie info, clips & trailers. It had info on HL:Source on its news page, so I clicked on it. Here is the info they had under plot summary: Plot Summary: The world is falling into chaos. As he roams a crumbling city, Duncan MacLeod (Adrian Paul), the Highlander, remembers happier times before the love of his life left... Hopeless and alone, MacLeod finds his way to a band of immortal companions, including his mysterious friend Methos, and a mortal, Watcher Joe Dawson. Together this small group sets out on a quest to find the origin of the first Immortal and The Source of their immortality. This new adventure is the first feature in the Trilogy. "The Source" tells the story of Immortals as they quest to locate the Holy Grail of their world. The entire series of films will chronicle the origins of the Immortals. Trilogy????!!!! You mean they got enough footage in Romania/Lithuania/wherever to extend to 3 films??? They are obviously trying to jump on the trilogy bandwagon (LOTR, Matrix, POTC) but as no one really cares about Highlander anymore, even the fans, what are they thinking? I faithfully went to Endgame, regretted it, and am dubious about The SOurce. We probably won't get it in South Africa anyway, so may be a moot point - we didn't get Serenity on the big screen, even though we saw the entire Firefly series on SABC. This is so amateurishly done as to even beg the point the Panzer/Davis could have done it. YouTube being the new advertising gold mine not withstanding..... You know what? Who cares? There were rumours for a while - particularly around the time of pre-production when The Source was being promoted at Cannes and such - that the film would be the first part of a trilogy. At this current stage, though the story doesn't preclude a continuation, The Source remains a stand-alone film and there are no firm, concrete plans beyond that. ComingSoon was just reporting the rumours. It apparently came out of Brazil and looks to be some badly-synched footage/audio designed to give a potential buyer/distributor of the film a look at the style. I have no idea why it's subsequently gone up at the D/P site (they probably figure to capture some of the Net traffic rather than it going straight to YouTube) but when the official trailer comes out it will come through Lionsgate itself. Given there are discussions about an extra day of filming - to, I believe, expand one of the scenes towards the end of the film which may have been dropped from the intial shooting script - it may be some time before the official trailer hits. No idea whether The Source will rock or suck, but the current clip isn't the bets way to judge it. Wow what a great TV show. I just finished watching season 3. Thanks to my local library and Netflex. Season 4 comes out Tuesday and I have it ordered on Netflex. I will not bother watching season 5 when it returns to A&E as they only show it with 44 minutes when it is 59 minutes on the DVD. Plus the DVD has lots of extra's which I did not watch but will later. We even have a Highlander connection Peter Firth who plays Harry Pearce was in the episode Warmonger he played Arthur Drake. Make sure if you respond you do not spoil. I am wondering if anyone who watches across the pond could copy season 5 for me? Boy all I can say is these writers are ruthless. No one is safe. This series is the best I have watched since highlander. I watch a lot of TV I like it better then 24 and I love that. please help I will don't spoil for others and me for season 5 I also found a great link ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 8 Jan 2007 16:02:14 +0200 From: Tarryn Zank <zankt@ukzn.ac.za> Subject: DVD's - eurominutes? Just a quick question on the DVD sets - are all of the episodes the 'Eurominutes' versions? We in South Africa saw the longer episodes, so I would not like to buy DVD's that have less on them than what I have on tape. I am slowly building up my DVD boxset collections, and Highlander is finally at a price I can afford. Also, if you shop around on e-Bay, you can find people who charge reasonable postage for the item, not per disc, as some dealers do. Someone on my Feist mailing list just announced that they got all 6 seasons of HL for Christmas. Anyone know how to curse someone over cyberspace? (without actually sending them a virus ;-) ) Thanks! Marina will surely correct me if I am wrong <eg> but I think SA saw versions that were longer than what the USA saw, but shorter than the true, uncut Eurominute versions. I know that was true for the first year or two, I am not positive about later seasons. And, in some cases, different materiel was cut for different markets. The USA got less sex, Europe got less violence (a commentary on our respective cultures and mores, I suppose). Wendy ( Haven't even opened the box of Raven DVDs I bought last year.)(Or was it longer?) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 8 Jan 2007 10:31:57 -0500 From: Wendy <immortals_incorporated@cox.net> Subject: "Source "trailer" (possible spoilers) ( was "HIGHLA-L Digest") Edward said: <<Highlander : The Source Trailer_ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9-21Wodi9Y_ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9-21Wodi9Y) >> >>Utterly craptastic. True. But as John points out below, it wasn't meant to be a real trailer. The *real* trailer will also be utterly craptastic but it will have better music.<eg> John: > For the record, this ISN'T the trailer and wasn't meant to > be. But who made it for the distributor to see? Lionsgate? If this is what they are shopping around, they clearly want the movie to fail, > I have no idea why it's subsequently gone up at the D/P site D/P probably figured it was a cheap way to advertise because, hey....why bother to actually spend money to produce content for a website you put up two years before there was any chance of there being an actual movie to see? >but when the official trailer comes out it will come through > Lionsgate itself. And it will be filled with really cool special effects that aren't in the movie. Oh wait..that was Endgame. Oh..oh... are they going to reshoot so that Methos doesn't ***? Or just give us another fight scene? More running through the woods in the dark? Another car chase? Some villain chewing scenery? A honest-to-god flashback? Are they going rethink that whole Duncan becomes ****** and has a *** idea? > No idea whether The Source will rock or suck, but the current > clip isn't the bets way to judge it. No, we should judge it based on past experience with the movie franchise, from the info that has come out during and since filming began/ended, by the deafening silence of the major cast members, by the too-bad-not-to-be-true script that surfaced and was yanked, and from the pictures/props that have been offered for sale on eBay. Then again, we could wait until it comes out in theaters or on DVD (sometime before the next millennium). (but what where would be the fun in that?) Wendy (For the few dozen actual HL fans that still exist in the world, the long long wait just raises - or lowers - expectations exponentially)(The great mass of movie goers doesn't know or care that another HL movie is being made.)(They probably won't care even after it hits the theatres/discount racks at Wal-Mart.) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 8 Jan 2007 07:56:01 -0800 From: Stephen Bryce <sibryce@yahoo.com> Subject: Re: "Source "trailer" (possible spoilers) ( was "HIGHLA-L Digest") Interesting...
