Since I have developed an unhealthy obsession with the Wraith, let's get
back
to the idea that, if a Wraith had an Immortal, he would have a food source
that is unending... or would he? What if the Quickening is the life
force, and
Immortals are just people who can tranfer it (or whatever)? So, say an
Immie has killed... ummm... 300 other Immies. A Wraith might be able to
have 300 meals, but once the Quickening is all 'sucked out', do you think
our poor hypothetical Immortal might die?

It may seem that your SIGNOFF didn't take effect because you are still
getting posts. There is probably a backlog of messages in HIGHLA-L's
queue that were posted before you sent the SIGNOFF command. Those will
continue to come until it gets to the timestamp when you unsubscribed.
This can take several hours or might even take up to 24 depending on
how backed up everything is.
*WHAT TO DO IF THE LISTSERV SAYS YOU ARE NOT SUBSCRIBED TO HIGHLA-L:
When trying to send one of these commands if you receive back a
message saying that you are not subscribed to HIGHLA-L this means
that your current outgoing email address has changed since you
subscribed to the list. It is very common for system administrators
to do this without notifying their users. The way to straighten this
out is to SUBSCRIBE from your new address and SIGNOFF from the
old. If you can't SIGNOFF from the old address please notify me and

I was channel surfing and heard _that voice_ and had to go look.

Just thought of an idea for a reality show--CAST THIS ACTOR. A bunch of
non-Hollywood agents take a shot at getting a real TV acting job for a sadly
under-utilized acting talent. AP would be the 1st candidate. The novices
put him through his paces & pester casting agents. Watch the hijinks
ensue....
In the meantime, I can't help fantasizing about AP in key roles on my fav TV
shows. No disrespect to Josh Holloway, but AP would have made a fabulous
Sawyer on Lost. We KNOW that AP can do "dirty-hot sexy guy who can charm
the pants off his victims as easily as shoot them in the back." AP lolling
on the beach.... He could use his own accent, & his hair would eventually
get long enough again for a pony tail. It's all good.
OR--AP as one of her college professors when Veronica Mars goes to college
next season. (The new CW willing.) Like when AP did that guest lecture on
weapons & the Crusades in Leader of the Pack. And, sure, there could be a
murder & some intricate fraud thing for Veronica to solve, as long as AP's
character hit the university gym regularly or maybe had a suspicious series
of leaky pens requiring regular onscreen shirt changing.
AND--AP just MUST be on Battlestar Galactica. As a Cylon, of
course--because there should be several character copies for AP to play to
give him job security & just generally pretty up that fairly bleak world, &
the whole resurrection thing should come naturally to him. And he would
have to have tons of sex scenes w/ Tricia Helfer's Six, just because that
exquisite pairing SHOULD exist on film (w/ easy download).

What ever happened to the days of the Duncan Flag Wavers? In the day
they'd have been all over this thing, like white on rice. Instead, one
of them spends her time whinging on about disrespectful priests while
the rest are all MIA. Or more likely, MIAF (missing in another
fandom).
I remember a time when the lists were bombarded with people sending in
links to this or that stupid poll, where one was asked to select their
choice for the next Bond or the next this or the future that -- and
people *went!* And returned to discuss the results. Not so much
anymore, it seems.
I'm very disappointed, people, very disappointed.
