Announcement from Adrian ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Tue, 27 Sep 2005 19:14:31 -0700 From: "R. Shelton" <rshelton2@earthlink.net> Subject: Announcement from Adrian I'm rather behind in my listmail [what else is new?] <g> but didn't see this posted here yet - if it has been, please excuse! My apologies also to any who may get this twice. I, for one, am thrilled about this, since being on a fixed income these past years has meant I had to give up paying for AP's fanclub site, etc. I think it's great that everything will be online [as it should be now days] and I'm sure this has a lot to do with the wonderful efforts of HLWW. :) I thought this was a neat letter from Adrian too. Rachel ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The following announcement is from Adrian Paul himself. Dear Members of the APFC: As you all know, I have been putting a great deal of time and effort into re-establishing the PEACE Fund as a vehicle to do something worthwhile and constructive for children in need. I am delighted with its re-launch and the amount of money you have helped us raise for children on Koh Phi Phi. But there is still much that needs to be done in terms of future sponsorships and fundraising. I need to be in a position where I can give that as much of my time and attention as possible - and still have a viable career. To that end I am pleased to announce that the Adrian Paul website and Fan Club are going to be revamped to more readily bring you varied content and easier access. With that in mind, we will be ending paid memberships to the fan club. This does NOT mean that the fan club is going away. It simply means that you will no longer have to pay to be a member. Instead of a quarterly release of information based in the newsletter, you will all be able to read it at the moment I am ready to announce it. While most of the information you have come to expect from the newsletter will begin appearing on my new website, this does not mean that the newsletter will go away. There are always exciting new things to talk about, and the newsletter format is often a perfect, in-depth vehicle for that. Newsletters will still be occasionally posted for you to download in the new PDF magazine format John will begin using as of issue 45, which you will see soon. They will simply begin appearing periodically rather than on a set schedule. What will this mean? 1. For all current paid members, we will fulfill all of our current obligations to you and produce the number of newsletters you were still due to receive. John is going to work overtime, and with some help from others he will produce four newsletters between now and March of 2006. 2. We will stop accepting paid memberships and renewals immediately. 3. I would eventually like to archive past newsletters on my website, but out of respect for our paying members, they will not be put up on the web for at least six months to ensure that paid members had access to something special. By refocusing energy we had been using to deal with technical problems, we will instead be bringing you more frequent updates to a new website that you can all enjoy. The new AdrianPaul.net will keep everything that you liked about the current one and will be much more user-friendly. I want to thank you all for your amazing and continuing support for me, my charity work, and my career. I never take it for granted and am deeply grateful.
