Does anyone know anything about a new series called `Young Blades'? According to the onscreen tv description tonight is the first episode. The description it has is- "Bruce Boxleitner plays the head of the 17th- century Musketeer Academy, home to swordsmen-in-training. In the opener, a peasant girl (Karen Cliche) wanted for murder disguises herself as a man to join. (Action/Adventure)." The show is on PAX which I think is a kid/family channel so I don't expect it to be all that interesting but I may check out the first episode. I'm curious if anyone has heard more about it though. According to the IMDB Michael Ironside is in it so there's the Highlander connection. =}{= (heidi@bronze.lcs.mit.edu) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Jan 2005 18:07:47 -0600 From: Ginny <RED57@aol.com> Subject: Re: Young Blades? Here's a quote from a recent email: >I just wanted to let everyone know that the show I'm currently working >on, "Young Blades," is premiering on PAX this Sunday, January 23rd, at >8 PM, with reruns on Tuesday nights at 8. It's a musketeer series that >the critics are calling a pleasant romp, which is what we were aiming >for. Hey, a "pleasant romp" from Gillian probably means swords and headboards, so yay for her and yay for us. -- Ginny RED57@aol.com Fresh out of .sig lines ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Jan 2005 19:26:07 -0500 From: Heidi <heidi@bronze.lcs.mit.edu> Subject: Re: Young Blades? From: Ginny <RED57@AOL.COM> Hey, a "pleasant romp" from Gillian probably means swords and headboards, so yay for her and yay for us. Thanks for the info. If you mean `headboards' in the way it's usually used in reference to HL episodes, I don't really expect that on a show airing on PAX. Or am I wrong about it being a kid/family channel? (I may be getting it mixed up with one of the other kiddie ones.) =}{= (heidi@bronze.lcs.mit.edu) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Jan 2005 20:09:37 EST From: Highlandmg@aol.com Subject: Re: Young Blades? darn it my cable co does not carry PAX anymore Mary ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Jan 2005 18:30:55 -0700 From: Firefly <airedale@northerntel.net> Subject: Re: Young Blades? Perhaps there won't be headboard rattling, but there was a scene where D'Artagnan came in for a landing with his nose right in a buxom blonde's cleavage, and the Musketeer who's always inventing things murmured "...bags of air...could save lives!" It's not very serious and makes quite a few anachronistic jokes, but it was worth a chuckle or two. I switched over to a rerun of a old BBC America favorite, so I haven't seen the ending yet. -- Ginny RED57@aol.com Fresh out of .sig lines ------------------------------ End of HIGHLA-L Digest - 22 Jan 2005 to 23 Jan 2005 (#2005-10) **************************************************************
