Rottie-- >Horrors. You mean Zeist exists in your canon? *vbeg* Again--it is not MY canon. Or yours. Or Carmel's. Canon is created by the people who own & make the TV shows, movies, etc. NOT by the people who watch them. Certainly not by the people who write stories set in those fictional universes--no matter how widely they are illicitly distributed. John before-- > only TPTB can > dictate canon Leah-- >>>...Er...which one? They seem to have several different canons of their own creation.>>> So? There's HL movie canon, HL series canon, Endgame theater version canon, Endgame Producers' Cut canon--& I'm sure more will come. Plus, all the twists & turns w/in each.... That just calls into question DPP's intelligence, attention span, & dedication to the HL franchise as anything other than something they can pimp for cash. Creative rights to HL are theirs to do as they will--good, bad & stupid. Same w/ the other genre shows we love. None of it is _yours_ , Leah, though anyone stumbling onto your website & seeing what all you have for sale might well be confused. Pat-- > I asked a simple question, and you assume I'm trying to "catch you". You > have a highly inflated opinion of your own importance in my life. I can only go by the tone & substance of your participation here; you always seem so intensely interested in me & my views, as opposed to the discussion topic. I'm not sure if I should feel flattered, or stalked. What is YOUR interest in _distributed fanfic_, again? That IS the point, you know. > You don't have a problem with people reading fanfic distributed on the > net? Seems a bit contradictory. If no one read it there would be no > point in posting it. Which would be a big problem for fanfic writers desperately seeking an audience (or adulation, as Marina called it, I believe). It wouldn't be a problem for me. > The writer would in effect be talking to > themselves. Again--not my problem. Maybe these people should take up something more sensible--like writing original material they can legitimately distribute. > Readers are necessary accessories to what you perceive as an > immoral & illegal act. It appears you were one of those > accessories. Was that before you realized how wrong fanfic distribution > is or have you reformed? Yes. Always a blast chatting w/ you, Pat. Anne said Duncan had no scars. But Immies do get >scars...what about Kalas and possibly Kurgan? Or is >only for big injuries like those and small ones don't >scar? Someone else has already explained that big neck wounds leave scars on Immortals and that pre-Immortal scars remain after the first death. That still leaves the issue of Duncan and his supposedly scar-free body :::::::loses concentration while imaging Duncan's body :::::: Um..what? Oh yeah.... Wouldn't Duncan probably have had *some* scars on his body from his pre-Immortal days? I have scars that I've accumulated in 40+ years of relatively safe living. Duncan lived a much more active and dangerous life...wouldn't he have the odd scar from past battle wounds, training accidents, falls on the rocks around home, flying embers from fires, etc? Or are we to assume that Anne just meant no major scars from surgery? And if that is what she meant....why would she assume that he should have any? I know lots of adults who have never had any kind of surgery. Or, do Immortals start off with all the little scars of normal living but eventually they fade away entirely leaving the soft unmarked skin of a baby? :::::ummmmmm...........Duncan's skin:::::::: ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm:::::::: And if the small scars fade over time ....why don't the bigger ones? Why was Mako still sporting that scar on his face after 800+ years? A mystery we'll probably never see resolved. ****************** I have a new email address and anyone who cares - one or two of you, perhaps - can take note and change your address books accordingly. This has been a public service announcement. Thank you for your kind attention. ****************** Wendy (Why *was* Slan wearing that silly mask?)(I guess we can't expect the writers to have figured everything out by the first episode.)(Oh yeah, I can also be reached at jjswbt@cox.net)(Geez- I hate changing ISPs) Immortals Incorporated immortals_incorporated@cox.net "Weasels for Eternity" ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 14 Jul 2003 10:30:32 -1000 From: MacWestie <mac.westie@verizon.net> Subject: Re: Two questions (or three) Wendy-- > That still leaves the issue of Duncan and his supposedly scar-free body SNIP > Wouldn't Duncan probably have had *some* scars on his body from his pre-Immortal days? Yes. And in fact, in one of the flashback scenes in Homeland, we _saw_ DM get sliced pretty nastily across his right arm by cousin Robert, who was goading DM to fight. At the time, DM was a pre-Immie, so the scar should have remained forever. Of course, there's no way AP or the make-up people for the previous 3 seasons of the show could know what was in store in the season 4 opener. Still, they should have realized the scar problem while filming Homeland & just had Robert exhibit his asinine personality in some other way. So, I consider the injury a production goof for Homeland. > Or are we to assume that Anne just meant no major scars from surgery? And if that is what she meant....why would she > assume that he should have any? I know lots of adults who have never had any kind of surgery. I'm really not the person to come up w/ a rational explanation for Anne's behavior or comments. It does all seem, however, totally in character for her. >>>And if the small scars fade over time ....why don't the bigger ones? Why was Mako still sporting that scar on his face after 800+ years? A mystery we'll probably never see resolved.>>> Maybe HL5 will turn the franchise around, ditching the WWF masses & instead plumbing for the lowest common denominator among the stay-young-&-beautiful-forever crowd. ... Coming to a theater near you! Five Forever-Young Studs & Sluts Show YOU How to Stay Smooth, Firm & Freakishly Engorged, in HIGHLANDER: IMMORTAL DERMATOLOGY SECRETS. Don't miss it!!!!! (It'll run only 23 minutes, there will be [badly done] morphing, & the editing will be really bad, but DPP will hail it as their gift to the fans & an artistic triumph, despite unconscionable interference by the clueless studio suits. And threats to make HL6 [in partnership w/ said suits] will begin almost immediately.)
