How long did it take for the first season to reach other outlets like amazon or buy.com? I'll wait. Yes, they are only available at the HL store, according to her. They are ready for pre-ordering and will alledgedly ship in March. I mentioned Anchor Bay and this female pauses and then sounds confused as she repeats, "Anchor Bay? If they release Highlander the Series on DVD, it's bootleg copies." Going into the Immortal Edition thing, I asked her if those were bootleg copies too. She admitted it sounded like what they were selling. She touted herself as working in the sales and marketing department directly for Panzer/Davis and that her paychecks had their names on it. I guess this was supposed to lend credence to all she was telling me. After suggesting she tell someone that Anchor Bay is selling plenty of bootleg copies of their season one, I end the call telling her I fully intend to purchase their bootleg Season Two as well. I went back to the HL site and got the 800 number. I called back and spoke with another woman. I told her I'd just spoken with Doris and her tone immediately changed. It was obvious they were all in a room together. I told her of the 'bootleg' conversation and Anchor Bay. She told me that anything sold outside of the HL store was bootleg unless there was a contract. Well DUH?!!! She said they had to be careful since people were selling so many things that were junk and knockoffs, much of it found on ebay. She said that Davis was a lawyer and they were constantly going after people and businesses unfairly or illegally representing themselves as selling authentic Highlander products. I tried in vain to get her to admit that Anchor Bay was indeed authorized to sell HL stuff. So I went the other way. I told her that the fans and people on the internet would be plenty sore if they continued to insist that Anchor Bay was bootlegging (and it's not true) when they (the HL store people) make their sales calls. I also suggested that if they, meaning Panzer/Davis didn't know that Anchor Bay was distributing their products, then maybe they should look into it as I for one was beyond pleased with the "bootleg" copy I'd bought! Personally, the second Amazon.com has this set up for pre-order, I'm on it. Those people at the HL store *really* will say anything! Sheeza <---sorry for the rant. Almost posted on HG yesterday about this. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 28 Dec 2002 14:19:25 -0500 From: Terry Howard <howardtl@muohio.edu> Subject: Re: Season 2 on DVD At 10:21 AM 12/28/2002 -0800, you wrote: > > Must be the same gal who told me I wasn't a real Highlander fan, because I didn't buy the sword they called me about. Lets see at last check I had all six seasons, all the movies, 4 swords, 6 signed photos, and a ton of other junk. Yep, I'm not a fan I don't have the towel Duncan used after taking a shower in 1929. >Personally, the second Amazon.com has this set up for pre-order, I'm on it. >Those people at the HL store *really* will say anything! > >Sheeza <---sorry for the rant. Would that be the Wedding Sword or the American Flag Sword? I have never been able to decide which is cheesiest. Nina (I don't give a rat's ass about Endgame--Duncan NEVER married. I don't know if this was mentioned already because the machine I read the list on is down part of today and tomorrow. According to the Anchor Bay website Season 2 will be out this summer. This is the blurb from their site (www.anchorbayentertainment.com) HIGHLANDER: THE SERIES - Summer 2003 Following the recent success with our release of the first season of HIGHLANDER: THE SERIES, Anchor Bay Entertainment is happy to report that we will be releasing the remaining seasons of the show (as well as the spin-off season of HIGHLANDER: THE RAVEN) in 2003 and beyond. Look for Season 2 to hit DVD next summer with extra features to be announced. So it may be take a little longer, but it's good to hear they'll be releasing the rest. (especially since places like Best Buy and deepdiscountdvd.com sell the Season 1 set for almost half the price The HL Store does.) I wonder if they'll be releasing The Best Of set also. Their phrase `remaining seasons' is a bit too vague to tell if that also includes it. =}{= (heidi@apoclaypse.org) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 28 Dec 2002 17:33:36 -0700 From: Pat Lawson <plawson@webleyweb.com> Subject: Re: Season 2 on DVD Nina wrote: >Nina (I don't give a rat's ass about Endgame--Duncan NEVER married.
