Whatever floats your boat. << That's a pity. Mind you in the previous 5 seasons there wasn't even one minute you didn't like. Personally I thought Bane was terrible, there are a few others I didn't like either. But I figure that in any series that runs 22 episodes per year you are going to find a few that you don't like. Stargate like Highlander has produced very few of those episodes so I am happy with it. As to the present season I wasn't sure how it was going to work without Daniel and was pleasantly surprised that I do still like it. Luckily I never have been of the opinion that any character is bigger than the show. Anyway I like to see characters develop and move on they way people do in real life. >> Producer/Writer Joseph Mallozzi said "full time, every episode." Since he's writing quite a few of them and producing half of Season 7, I think he'd be up on the details. << I hadn't heard that so thank you for the information - all I said was that I had heard something different. I am still slightly worried about how they are going to bring him back, hopefully they will do it well and in a plausible manner. >> Maybe Nemec didn't want to be locked into the show for another season. Perhaps he wanted to pursue something else, or different role opportunities opened up that were more to his liking. << Good for him. I was rather hoping the same would happen for Michael, I was looking forward to seeing him in other things. >> I was pointing out that a studio does not take back an actor who is 'begging' them for his return to the show out of a sense of mercy.. << I didn't think he was begging to be taken back I thought they went to him. I have high hopes for any episode he writes, I found him very interesting to listen to, with a keen sense of humour both on stage and off - though to be honest it was Lexa I was chatting with. I just happen to think that season 6 pretty much sucks and that the character of Jonas Quinn is at worst obnoxious and annoying and at best boring. Out of 11 episodes so far, I have actually liked 2 (one of which featured Daniel and the other which featured Bra'tac and Jacob Carter *and* was directed by Peter DeLuise and featured something like 30 seconds of Jonas) and found 1 somewhat okay. If Daniel wasn't coming back, I wouldn't even bother to watch the rest of the season. Annie Welcome Home Daniel Jackson and Michael Shanks! Stargate Season 7: Seventh Heaven! Mind you, I said "bored," too...not disappointed. Every show has bad or substandard episodes, without exception. In my perception, Season 6 of Stargate was almost entirely boring. Your mileage obviously varied. >>As to the present season I wasn't sure how it was going to work without Daniel and was pleasantly surprised that I do still like it. Luckily I never have been of the opinion that any character is bigger than the show.<< The fans who were upset at Daniel's departure were never claiming that he was 'bigger than the show.' Since he was arguably one of the two main lead characters out of a team of 4 (and one of the two original characters from the motion picture), the show was certainly changed without him. Many fans didn't like the change of focus to one more exclusively military. >>Anyway I like to see characters develop and move on they way people do in real life.<< Or die, like Richie or Daniel. No problem with that, right? That's what happens in real life. Again, your taste. >> Producer/Writer Joseph Mallozzi said "full time, every episode." Everything hinges on the skill and talent of the writers. The actors don't decide these things. >>Maybe Nemec didn't want to be locked into the show for another season.Perhaps he wanted to pursue something else, or different role opportunities opened up that were more to his liking. << > Good for him. I was rather hoping the same would happen for Michael, I was looking forward to seeing him in other things.< Among other things, Shanks had actually been nailed for a part in X-Men 2 (same as Peter!) as a mutant, but they cut the scenes/sequences where he would have been scheduled to appear. It's rather rare for fans to win a campaign against a studio. Let's hope the writers are up to the challenge of the Season to come.
