HL in Cinescape ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Wed, 27 Nov 2002 09:53:05 -1000 From: MacWestie <mac.westie@verizon.net> Subject: HL in Cinescape The current issue of Cinescape mag has a 2-page Highlander article by long-time HL writer Abbie Bernstein. It's just chock-full of terrifying possibilities & ludicrous quotes from Bill Panzer. Straight from the horse's ass, um ass' mouth, um horse's mouth--that's it. Among other things, he's intent on taking HL to Broadway--HIS way, of course; funding seems to be up in the air (shock, shock), so we may well be safe from that particular debacle. The TV series Highlander: Trinity we've heard of for a couple years now is still "out there." 3 young Immies, strangers but w/ a recently-slain "Methos/Darius character" (um--were there any 2 Immies LESS alike than Darius & Methos?) mentor in common, come together to do something about a govt. agency that just discovered Immies exist. Still no casting, funding, etc. though. The possibility/threat of an upcoming HL production that took me totally by surprise is this--a different TV concept called Cloakers. BP--"The mythology [of Immortality] is unchanged. Just as nobody knew about Watchers for a long time, nobody knows about Cloakers." He goes on to say Cloakers "are a specific, hitherto unrevealed type of Immortal" w/ a "very cool" function. One sure function would be hawking a whole new line of HL: Store apparel--swooshy cloaks for all occasions. On this concept as well--nothing solid re: funding, networks, casting, etc. Nina (Or, it was a typo, & the actual show would be Highlander: Croakers. Immortal frogs. They cannot die, unless you take their legs....) mac.westie@verizon.net Save Farscape/Frell SciFi Channel http://homepage.mac.com/chryse/Guiding%20Star/Cancelled.html http://www.farscapeworld.com/helpfarscape.shtml ------------------------------ End of HIGHLA-L Digest - 25 Nov 2002 to 27 Nov 2002 (#2002-208) ***************************************************************
