That most people had no sense of civility :) never saluting one another .... that English was the end all of all (hey, who knows what is going to be the "human" language of the year 3002 ?) ..... never aiming to understand but to score instead ..... Oh ..... what a dread I am on nostalgia "dreadfully awful evil grin" ! JoAnne - waving back to Marina finally (well, I am still as busy today despite grown sons and even one gone than I was nearly 7 years ago when I joined .... and no, never "meet" Kip and many of the real old geezers) .....et puis pour conclure ... tigidou :) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Jul 2002 21:35:43 -0500 From: Johanne =?iso-8859-1?Q?Bri=E8re?= <jojoann@videotron.ca> Subject: Re: Nostalgia (was-- Aye, Where has the time gone?) Hi again everyone, Personnaly I think nostalgia is often overrated :) I prefer to live now than then myself. But while I have done a list boo-boo by leaving the whole of Karyn post, I can help it - it is a very human, friendly post and since it is already 3 days old .... it is also very refreshing to read of such a sharing moment of fellow listees about another one. It is in fact, nostalgia value, quite astonishing to me. And I am impressed that such things have happen straight from highla-l - so let me say "bravo, ça m'impressionne". HL fans have a heart of gold as a whole I believe. Fans have heart of gold by themselves. The nature of the beast of passion I would say. I have been not witness to such act - I have been receivers of such good deeds. And that is one thing I shall never forget ... and it is not due to nostalgia - but the fact and the trek of living, of live and of passion .... and of meeting fellows friends out there - sharing of the same trek. No it is not nostalgia - for it exists still in all other endeavor of passion and fandom - whatever their name, whatever their links. No it is not nostalgia - riding in a car yesterday evening, late at night, with the moon, the stars, the voice on the cd, the people in the car, unknown less than 2 years ago and meet through internet, passion and need to share ... it is so actual, factual ... still going on whatever the name of the fandom .... But this post of Karyn, who must look daily at her growing child and must remember always ... from such sweets endeavor from this list ... well I am impressed and my probable bout of nostalgia would be about ..... why has this been such a rarity in my time here ? colour me blind ... I have not much memory of this from here ... yes from elsewhere - deriving from here ... but not from here ... what then has happen ? Karyn, I am glad for you. Thanks for sharing this. A la prochaine, JoAnne jojoann@videotron.ca p.s. I have tried to reach Janine Shahinian at her new email adress twice so far - and my posts have come back. Anyone have any ideas how and why ?
