I particularly liked him in the first few episodes we saw ... he was fun, he had fun, he was gallant and loved to flirt, but he had a serious side to his character. After he was killed off, and reappeared only in flashbacks, the writers didn't seem to know what to do with him, and we got "Fitz, the Comedian". I didn't like his character in those episodes nearly as much. It is possible to enjoy immortality and to have friends, lovers, playmates, etc. without becoming an idiot.
