If that were true, the problems experienced would be common to everyone -- and that isn't the case. Most likely the problems experienced are player compatability issues and not quality issues with the DVDs. If you've successfully played other long-format, dual layered discs on your DVD player, chances are the DVD's will work fine for you. The discs look very good, sound great and I do recommend them. Thanks Lynn and Mary! I'll definitely be getting the Season 1 set soon. I had been waiting for it to go retail at Amazon, but I guess I'll get it now, so the producers get the idea that this thing is actually selling so they'd go and release the rest of the seasons. :) If I'm satisfied with the quality of these discs, I'll definitely buy all 6 seasons! I've got a Pioneer DVD player which is pretty tough and can play discs that don't play on other players I tried. :) Gerry ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 1 Apr 2002 20:36:46 +1000 From: Carmel Macpherson <carmel@stuartfieldhouse.com> Subject: Re: Tracker On-line Petition HI all Annie said: <<..Carmel... are you aware that someone is signing that petition using a lot of fan names and saying nasty things? Leah's name was used and I saw a number of other names I recognized from this list...>> I only became aware of it after I posted the request to sign it. I've sent the Petition organiser a number of suggestions as to how it could be handled. I don't see why the comments need to be there at all and if they were removed completely then the problem would be solved. At worst there would be a duplicate name but that in itself would not be a problem. I also think that, for any Petition, no vote should be recorded until the actual email owner has verified that they are the person who filled in the Petition. I see little point in receiving a confirmation email if some troll has *already* used my name and put a false comment against it and it has been mounted on the web for all to see - and THEN I get an confirmation request????? Apparently they are trying to sort it out but have now run into the Easter holiday problem....s:i:g:h. I can certainly understand the anger of those whose names have been so maliciously misused - Zk, Rottie, Leah, Jette... Lessons here for anyone thinking of mounting a Petition - it is indeed unfortunate that we have to stop and remember that there are slimeballs slithering hither and non, seeking any opportunity to create additional negative karma for themselves. The Great Wheel spins...and it (will be) perfect justice... He provided a much needed comedic counterpoint to Duncan's sometimes stoic composure. Thanks to the show's nature, we get to see Fitzcairn a little bit more, even if they were just in flashbacks or dreams. Has appreciation of this character and of Roger Daltrey resulted in appreciation for the Who's music in anybody here? I was a HUGE Who fan long before I was a Highlander fan so it was a pleasant surprise for me to see Roger in the show. Based on his other acting stints like the one in Teen Agent/If Looks Could Kill I wasn't really too sure about his ability to act. But I thought he was pretty good in Highlander. My being totally pissed off and depressed Fitzcairn was killed of may well be testament to that. Funny thing about the timing of your post is that Roger just had a birthdays a few days ago. I had many of their records. Remember those round plastic things which you had to lay a needle on to play? Oh my am I showing my age here. LOL. Three years ago The Who had a tour playing around the country. A friend of mine and I had tickets to the concert in Cincinnati, but it was cancelled at the last minute. At least we got to hear him sing with the Jim Byrnes band in Anaheim. That really brought back some great memories. I also enjoyed the comedic scenes between Duncan and Fitz. I was glad they were able to bring him back in flashback scenes, which he enjoyed playing anyway. He stated at a convention he had trouble playing the present day Fitz, but really enjoyed doing the backflashes. Adrian and Roger's personalities really played off of each other, making their scenes pure enjoyment. My daughter & s-i-l have tickets to see them in San Francisco. Their appeal spans generations. Is Tracker in danger of not coming back? Gee maybe it is the STELLAR 4:05AM sunday morning time slot here in Boston. OK enough with my bitching. What is it for and where do I go.
