It was really noticeable on the episode were Darius is killed. Duncan is putting his ashes into the river and the music is so loud you can't hear the eulogy. I have only had my set since the end of January. I've been meaning to find out from those on this list who have the discs if this is a common problem. I haven't notified the HL store yet. She said I could get it for 99.95 instead of the 139.95, so I went ahead and ordered it. After giving her my info, she said it wouldn't go through at 99.95, but was 129.95 now and no one told her about the price change. <rolling eyes, wondering how I didn't see that coming> I had a heck of a time trying to tell her I would wait to order it. She said they're going really fast like all other DVD's and I might not be able to get a set if I waited, although she had told me just a few minutes earlier that the "Best of.." didn't sell very well, but perhaps that was on VHS only. I also checked with my credit card company and they said it would be no problem to dispute the charge if it showed up on my statement after all. So, are there still problems with the DVDs? I remember a woman here who got some bad discs a few months ago. Oh, and she just called back, offering me Endgame. It's not the discs, Sandy -- if you don't have a 5 speaker setup but are listening to the 5.1 soundtrack, it's possible the music could be overwhelming the dialogue as 5 channels are being forced through only 1 or 2 speakers. Try the 2.0 track instead (press the "audio" button on your DVD remote or check the operating manual to see how to change audio tracks. The 5.1 sound is wonderful but it is intended for 5 speakers, not 2. If you *do* have a 5 speaker setup and the music is still too loud, turn up your center speaker or turn down the other 4. You should find instructions about how to do this in your receiver's operating manual. Use a THX-certified disc (e.g. Phantom Menace) to check your sound setup.
