It was very well done. I'm looking forward to the conclusion tonight. If you missed it, I think it will be re-broadcast in a couple of weeks. The USA web site gives the dates and times. Gerard Buttler is just yummy <g>. He was in Dracula 2000, too. He looks totally different in Atilla. I would not have known it was even the same guy if someone wouldn't have pointed that out to me. Any scoops on him from our Scots on the list? I read somewhere that he was discovered in a coffee shop. Part of this I attributed to the less-than-perfect reception on the channel that was showing Raven, but part I attributed to "cheap" production values. (I watched HL:TS on the same channel so I had something to compare Raven with). Now, watching Raven on the "store-bought" videos, I am amazed at how bright and pretty it sometimes is. It makes some (small) difference in how enjoyable the episodes are..almost anything is better when you don't have to squint through grainy haze to see the actors faces <g> ******************************************** Full Disclosure 1) Scene - Nick has gone to see Johnny (the hacker kid) , they input the old man's words into the computer and it tells them it translates to "Red Storm". American: Scenes switches to Amanda and Lucy inside their apartment, near the front door. Lucy: "When Nick investigates Cardoza and Cardoza finds out...300 year old assassin versus mortal ex-cop with tight buns and green eyes.. Amanda: "Blue" Lucy:"I can see what a fair match that is." They exit apartment and then Amanda feels the Buzz. Euro: Scene switches to Amanda and Lucy in apartment, near Amanda's bedroom. They walk toward front door, Amanda pulling her suitcase. Lucy berating Amanda. Amanda: "Oh Lucy! Would you please give it up? Or I'll have to kill you." Lucy: "Fine. You're the boss." Amanda: "Exactly. Lucy: "I really do admire you, Amanda." Amanda <suspicious>: "You do?" Lucy: "You're *so* much stronger than I am. If I were you, I could never leave. The *guilt* I would feel!" Amanda stops near front door: Lucy: "When Nick investigates Cardoza and Cardoza finds out...300 year old assassin versus mortal ex-cop with tight buns and green eyes.. Amanda: "Blue" Lucy:"I can see what a fair match that is." Continues as in American version. 2) Same scenes. Later. After Mario and Amanda chat at the elevator. American: Mario waves Amanda back toward apartment door. Cut to Mario pouring wine (water?) Euro: Mario escorts Amanda toward the apartment. Henchman signals to Lucy to move. She waves him off and takes the handle of Amanda's suitcase which is sitting in the hallway. She points to the other suitcase, indicating that the henchman should pick it up. He pauses, then does. Cut to Mario pouring. 3) Same scene later. Amanda and Mario chat. Cut to Nick at Johnny's. American: Starts with Nick looking at WWII photo on the wall. Euro: Nick moves away from computer and sits down. Nick: "Red Storm?" Johnny : "Computers don't lie. Only people." Nick: "Doesn't make sense." Johnny:<Cynically> "What does?" Nick looks at WWII photo on wall 4)Same scenes..a bit later. Cardoza has just left Amanda's. American: Lucy "faints" back on the sofa and sighs very dramatically. Cut to Nick. Euro: Lucy "faints" back on the sofa and sighs very dramatically. Amanda pats her and says" I'll get the cognac." Cut to Nick. 5) Next scene -after return from commercial. American: Starts with exterior of Amanda's apartment building then cuts to Nick in the elevator. Euro: Amanda and Lucy in the apartment. Amanda sitting having a drink, thinking. She comes to a decision. Amanda: " Lucy! Unpack. I'll be back" She gets up and puts on a jacket. Lucy looks very pleased and a bit smug. Amanda: "Something to share?" Lucy: "So...how does it feel?" Amanda: "What?" Lucy: "Doing something completely unselfish." Amanda: "Are we having the same conversation?" Lucy: "You could have warned Nick about Cardoza." Amanda picks up purse , moves toward the door, Lucy continues. Amanda looks a bit put-out. Lucy: "I knew it!! I knew that underneath that egotistical exterior..." Amanda: "Be careful" <Threatening tone but with a smile.> Lucy: " ..beats the heart of an honorable thief." Amanda:<affectionately> "Lucy, that must be your influence." Lucy: <pleased> "Yes. I like to think so. Now...what's the plan?" Amanda: "What plan?" Lucy: "I'm assuming that since you're going up against Cardoza- who has *only* killed ..oh....200-300 people plus a couple of dozen Immortals - that you have some sort of strategy in mind. Amanda: "I haven't got a clue. Just....keep Nick alive." Lucy: "Well...you'll think of something. You always do." Amanda: " I wish I had your confidence in me." Amanda exits. Lucy stands with her back to the door looking pleased. Cut to Nick in elevator. Continues as in American version. 6) Scene. At trailer after it has been destroyed. Euro: Amanda: "How could I have been so stupid!" Nick: "What the hell just happened?" Amanda: "That shot was never meant for the Cardinal." Body bag is removed. Amanda: "It was always meant for Cardoza." Nick: "Say what?" 8) Scene. Amanda ditches Nick at the church. He talks to Lucy American: The scenes cuts to Nick driving around. Then to Amanda in black leather at the parking garage. Euro: Cut to Amanda in her black leather at Cardoza's restaurant. She finds the body of the man Cardoza has shot in the head. (The sniper). She hears a door close somewhere in the building .Cut back to Nick in the car. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 31 Jan 2001 12:39:57 -0500 From: Sandy Fields <diamonique@earthlink.net> Subject: Re: OT: Atilla/Gerard Butler At 07:23 AM 01/31/01, Toni Stewart wrote: >I watched the 1st part of the mini series on USA last night. Full Disclosure had at least 3 big things going for it. 1--Carlo Rota was terrific as Cardoza (not as great as he is on LFN, but still)--a baddie w/ panache; he should have been kept around rather than promptly (& rather unconvincingly) killed off. 2--The scene where Amanda kills herself & revives to scare the crap out of Nick--very fun. 3--Since this was just the 2nd ep aired, most people still had hope for the spinoff. Of course, the minus column had several entries for this ep. (Amanda being fluent in _Navaho_???) Thanks for the Euros, Wendy! Yeah well ...I have the tapes ...I might as well watch them. And if I watch them...I might as well note the differences. And if I am noting the differences ... I may as well post them. Right? Right? (Of course my kids are not amused at my tying up the TV and 2 VCRs and subjecting them to back-to-back Raven episodes. )(Not even back-to-back but segment-to-segment) >Full Disclosure had at least 3 big things going for it. Three things? That might be a record! > 1--Carlo Rota was terrific as Cardoza (not as great as he is on LFN, but still)--a baddie w/ panache; he >should have been kept around rather than promptly (& rather unconvincingly) >killed off. It would have been nice to have seen a bit more character development with Cardoza.( Of course this could be said of most Raven characters) Was he still an "assassin" or was he now only interested in killing mortals who knew his "secret"? Did Amanda have a long history with him or was Warsaw the first time they met? >2--The scene where Amanda kills herself & revives to scare the >crap out of Nick--very fun. I liked that she did it so cavalierly. The MacLeod boys always make such a somber production of the event (Of course, they usually get laid immediately afterwards so who is to say which way is best?) I loved the fact he dropped her in the dirt- that probably bothered her more than putting a hole in her shirt (which disappeared in the next scene) > 3--Since this was just the 2nd ep aired, most people still had hope for the spinoff. I'll say this for Raven..it was better than "Queen of Swords" > Of course, the minus column had several entries for this ep. (Amanda being fluent in _Navaho_???) Yes..what was up with that? It was one of those things that needed explaining. Since learning to speak Navajo isn't required of all 1200 year old Immortals..there had to be some reason she knew it. They could have tied it in with the boy's grandfather..which would have made an interesting twist. I have some doubts about Amanda roughing it in the American SouthWest in a time when learning Navajo would have been required (versus a time when they all had learned English) And..I'll take this opportunity to say that the more I see of Lucy, the less I like her. The whole "drama queen" schtick gets old *fast*. The scarves..the huge theatrical gestures..the dramatic sighs...blech. OTOH, I'm warming up to Bert the second time around. And PJ is rather more handsome than I remembered. >Thanks for the Euros, Wendy! Mi Euros es tu Euros. Wendy(EG's scalped blonde hair is still off-putting and ugly.)
